WHAT IS KC DESIGN WEEK?

Design has the power to inform, connect, and inspire our lives. It quietly exists in our buildings, our products, our media, and our environments. KC DESIGN WEEK is a series of events that celebrate the value of design and highlight its impacts on our society. This inaugural collaborative event offers the community ways to interact with all areas of design including architecture, graphics, interiors, products, fashion and urban environments.

February 1st through 5th, 2010 is open to the public and includes inspirational lectures, hands-on workshops and self-guided tours presented by the KC Design Alliance.

Join Grand Marshall Kay Waldo Barnes in the excitement of Experience Design. Hosted by the KC Design Alliance Planning Committee, comprised of Kansas City community design organizations including:

• American Institute of Architects (AIAKC)
• American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGAKC)
• American Planning Association (APA)
• Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA)
