Kick off KCDW in style with Adobe! Connect with other local creatives for a fun and inspiring evening while you discover new features and workflows in Adobe Creative Cloud design tools. Create Now is a space for you to connect with other local creators, explore collaborative opportunities, and get a first-hand look at new technologies as well as need-to-know tips for creative pros. Local Kansas City designers, Mason Barry and Skyler Baker, will be showcased during this event to discuss their KCDW branding and how they use Adobe products to create their masterpieces. Following the Showcase, Adobe will guide you through the latest features in apps like Photoshop and Illustrator, all while highlighting the power of Adobe Firefly and the seamlessness of Adobe Express to perfect your creative process.

Drinks and light appetizers will be available courtesy of Adobe. Attendees will be entered to win one of two Creative Cloud subscriptions.

Mason Barry

Mason Barry is a leader in 3D animation and visual storytelling, recognized for transforming brands and enhancing customer engagement through dynamic design. As the Founder and Creative Director of Barry Creative in KCMO, he leverages over six years of industry expertise to deliver impactful visual content that drives results.

With a foundation in Graphic Design and Illustration from UCM, Mason's career evolved through significant roles at Grapevine Designs and Whiskey Design, where he specialized in 3D and motion design, AR/VR, and visualization. His leadership extends to AIGA KC as the Director of Mentorship, where he helps to cultivate the futures of creative professionals.

In 2023, Mason expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio by launching "Bonk!," a clothing brand that quickly established a market presence in North America, showcasing his flair for combining artistic innovation with market acumen.

At Barry Creative, Mason's expertise spans a broad array of services including animation, graphic design, VFX, branding, and more, all tailored to amplify brand presence and audience engagement. His commitment to excellence and client satisfaction has positioned him as a trusted partner for brands looking to leverage the power of visual media.

Skyler Baker

Skyler is a multi-faceted designer, hellbent on creative pursuit. With experience in Illustration, Graphic Design, and Motion Graphics, Skyler describes himself as a "restless creative" who is always looking for new creative experiences. After five years as an artist at Whiskey Design in Kansas City, he now lends his illustration and design skills to The Matchbox Studio in Dallas, Texas, while also freelancing and exploring different creative outlets in his spare time. In addition to this year's KCDW branding, you might have seen some of Skylers work in the wild at Boulevardia, Mildred's Food + Drink, and this year's State Fair of Texas.

Toren Reaves

Community Relationship Manager and Evangelist - Adobe Express

Toren is a flourishing creative who founded the 1st Black-Owned & Operated ad agency, KESA, in his hometown of Rochester, NY. His mission is to develop creative talent in underserved communities, and he works with the Adobe Community team, with a focus on Adobe Express, to empower as many people as possible to create.
