Urban Printmaking with Viva La Tinta
See the city through the eyes of a printmaker! This workshop will introduce participants to printmaking while also exploring our urban environment. Participants will join us on a walk around downtown Kansas City where we’ll explain and demonstrate two different urban printmaking methods along the way.
We’ll create stamps by pressing putty into architectural elements which will be used to make unique prints. In addition, we’ll roll ink directly onto designated areas to print onto paper and fabrics. Each participant will leave with a tote bag and sketchbook full of prints from the workshop.
Participants will leave the workshop with basic understanding of what printmaking is and an analog documenting tool. We hope that because of this workshop, we’ll all pay closer attention to the craftmanship of the built environment around all around us.
