Open Studio Night

Join us on Friday, April 24, from 5:30–8:30pm and tour around several Kansas City Design firms that are opening their doors for the evening. This is your chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the coolest creative studios in the Crossroads. Grab a friend and join the fun!

Don't Miss These Studios:

19th Terrace Collaborative (SKS Studio, ISOM Collective, Shive-Hattery, SWT Design), 1925 Central Avenue – 220 W 19th Terrace & 209 W 19th Terrace, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64108

Four neighboring design firms—ISOM Collective, SKS Studio, SWT Design, and Shive Hattery—will open their doors for an evening of exploration, conversation, and community. Guests are encouraged to tour each studio and learn about the diverse design disciplines, services, and markets represented across the Terrace. Each firm will host its own interactive game experience, giving visitors a fun way to engage with the teams. Participants can collect a stamp at every studio stop; completed postcards may be submitted for a chance to win prizes, including gift certificates to local Crossroads businesses.

Like nations competing on one field, our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams bring distinct strengths - united by one shared goal.

Phosphor Studio, 1730 Broadway Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64108

Phosphor Lab is an immersive production studio exploring how light, sound, space, and responsive media shape human perception and behavior. Grounded in architectural thinking and systems design, the Lab treats immersive technology as a spatial material used to define atmosphere, guide movement, and shape emotional resonance.

For KC Design Week, Phosphor Lab opens its studio as a live, immersive workspace. Visitors move through a space built around spatial audio and integrated visual media that demonstrates the Lab’s capabilities in immersive production and experiential design.

The work reflects applications in architecture, public spaces, art exhibitions, and brand experiences, illustrating how immersive technologies extend spatial storytelling and create meaningful, human-centered experiences.

SFS Architecture, 2100 Central Street, Suite 31, Kansas City, MO 64108

The heart of our firm is our people and our culture. Our diverse crew of registered architects, architectural graduates, interior designers, and support staff is powered by a love for smart, functional, and beautiful design inspired by Kansas City’s character and design legacy.

In celebration of Design Week, SFS is back again with our Top Shelf competition—mixing up a drink and bite pairing inspired by Kansas City architecture and design, where creativity, craft, and a little friendly competition come together.
